1. Mackenzie Park

Mackenzie Park is one of the most versatile and beautiful family portrait locations in Lubbock. With its wide-open spaces, peaceful water features, towering trees, and natural grasses, it offers an incredible variety of backdrops all in one place. Perfect for family portraits. Whether you’re dreaming of something light and airy, warm and golden, playful and fun, or rich and romantic, this park truly can create almost any look or vibe.
One of the best parts about Mackenzie Park is the flexibility. We can chase golden sunset light through the tall grass, capture sweet family moments under shaded tree canopies, or add depth and texture near the water. It allows your session to feel custom and unique without needing multiple locations.

If you are wanting a spot that gives us endless creative options while still feeling natural and relaxed, Mackenzie Park is always a beautiful choice.
2. Texas Tech Horticulture Gardens
Every corner feels intentional and beautiful, from vibrant florals to perfectly manicured greenery. It’s the kind of setting that instantly elevates your photos and adds a romantic, timeless feel. The natural beauty here does so much of the work for us, allowing your images to feel both elegant and effortlessly pretty.

Texas Tech University Horticulture Gardens are truly one of the most stunning locations in Lubbock, especially during the months of September and October. As the seasons begin to shift, the gardens come alive with rich color, blooming flowers, and beautifully textured trees that create the dreamiest backdrop for any session.

3. Texas Tech Campus
Texas Tech University Campus is rich in stunning architectural detail, making it a timeless and elegant location for any session. With its grand staircases, intricate stonework, large statement doors, and beautiful arches throughout, it offers a refined and classic backdrop that feels both sophisticated and iconic.

The variety of textures and structures gives us so much to work with. Whether you want something bold and dramatic or clean and polished. If you love architecture and want a location that feels elevated and full of character, Texas Tech’s campus is a beautiful choice for you.
4. Citizen Tower on Avenue K
Citizen Tower on Avenue K offers a high-end, modern feel that instantly elevates your session. With its clean lines and upscale atmosphere, it creates elegant, polished images that feel a little more editorial and refined.

The rooftop space is especially stunning, giving you that big-city vibe right here in Lubbock. It’s perfect if you’re wanting something different from the usual grasses and tree filled setting. This is bold, stylish, and unique. If you’re drawn to a more urban, sophisticated look, Citizen Tower is such a fun and excellent choice.
5. Buffalo Springs Lake
Buffalo Springs Lake is such a fun option if you’re wanting something a little different from the traditional West Texas photoshoot. While there is an entry fee to access the park, the beachy shoreline and water views make it especially perfect for summertime sessions. It brings a relaxed, almost coastal feel, right here near Lubbock.
The sandy areas and open water create a fresh, playful backdrop that stands out from cotton fields and open plains. It’s great for families who don’t mind a little adventure and love the idea of barefoot moments by the water.

It can get a bit crowded at times, especially in the warmer months, but with thoughtful planning and creative angles, we always make it work beautifully. If you’re dreaming of something unique, lighthearted, and summer-inspired, Buffalo Springs Lake is such a fun choice.

The Willows Garden is one of the most dreamy and romantic locations for a session. Because it’s a private property, an appointment is required and a small fee, but it is so worth it. The entire space feels peaceful, secluded, and thoughtfully designed for beautiful photos.

With large, sweeping willow trees, a variety of other mature trees, soft grasses, a rock-lined pond, blooming flowers, and gorgeous shaded areas, every area is stunning. The light filters through the branches in the prettiest way, creating soft, glowy images that feel almost magical.

The Buddy Holly Hall offers a timeless, elegant setting with a refined and classy feel. The outdoor areas are free to use and feature stunning architecture, large statement windows, and clean lines that create a polished, clean backdrop for your session.

If you’re wanting access to the interior of the building, a reservation and small fee are required, but the inside provides an elevated, upscale atmosphere that feels dramatic and unique. There’s also a nearby tree-lined area that softens the look and gives us a beautiful natural option to pair with the modern structure.
If you love a location that blends elegance with versatility, Buddy Holly Hall is your next family portrait location!
