Let me take the guesswork out of what you should wear for your fall family portraits. The clean, crisp air, changing leaves, and the smell of pumpkin spice make me want to relax and get comfortable on the couch. Meanwhile, I’m still thinking about your outfits for fall family portraits.
Creams, browns, tans, green, rust and dusty mauve are some of my favorites this time of year. These timeless colors add a perfect touch of elegance to your session. As a photographer, I have learned how important it is to wear colors that compliment each other well. Not only that but if you are investing in portrait session you want your photos to stand out and love the final product.
Using these colors in your photo color palette is easy. Let me show you how simple this can be with three different scenarios. Add or remove one outfit if it’s not needed. All of these outfits were styled on Amazon so you can do all the shopping from the convenience of your couch.
These are only ideas, feel free to mix and match the colors or outfits to make them you. Holly Cove Boutique is another excellent choice to find your outfit needs for fall. The have beautiful cream dress, sweaters and skirts in stock.
Let’s plan outfits for a family of five. Dad will wear a brown shirt layered with a green vest (optional). Mom wears a solid rust color dress with heels. Big sis wears a cream sweater with navy leggings and boots. The Brother wears tan pants with a green pullover, and the little sister wears a floral print dress that ties in rust, cream, and green.

Let’s plan outfits for another family. This time, we will prepare for a family of six. Mom wears a print dress with a belt and booties. Dad will wear a brown button-up shirt with khaki pants. The big brother wears a cream sweater with tan pants. The sister wears a burgundy dress with tan booties. The little brother wears a white shirt with a plaid shirt and tan pants, and the little sister can wear a dusty mauve dress with white shoes.

Dad wears navy pants and a dark olive green. Mom wears a knee-length cream dress, hat, and tall boots or she can wear a long cream dress. Baby is in a dark olive green outfit, and big sis is wearing a white shirt with a rust skirt. Brother has a brown long-sleeve shirt and tan pants on.

Did you see how easy this was? We don’t know where to begin so often, but I would say start with you, Mom. Once you have your outfit figured out, the rest will come easily.
Don’t stress about planning outfits. Your photographer should be able to help you find the perfect color scheme for your upcoming fall family portraits session.

Arielle's planning was evident in every aspect of the wedding, and the details of the day were simple yet elegant. Arielle's dress was beautiful.
