West Texas extended family sessions are worth documenting. Let me introduce you to the Wiebe family. If you want to enjoy a fun and memorable evening, spend it with this family. There is never a dull moment, and you’ll definitely leave with a bellyache from laughing. Letโs explore the essential things you need to know about a West Texas extended family session.
Iโve shot this family’s portraits before, and the first time was nothing like this session. I saw their personalities the first time, but this time, their true personalities shone through. And you know what happens when clients are real in front of the camera? You walk away with an SD card full of images you canโt say no to.
We started the session by grabbing portraits of each family or couple. Then we tackled the whole family. We captured a few poses and a few more creative ones, and then we went for the fun portraitsโthe ones that you use for blackmail on birthdays, the ones that remind you of every memory from your childhood.
One of my favorite portraits during the session was when the brothers looked at each other and said, โAre you ready?โ At that point, you know someone is in for it. Somehow, Dad knew he would be the target.
You are fixing to scroll through the family images, and when you do, I hope you find yourself caught in the emotions. My goal was to capture joy and everyday life in these images.
During this session, I learned that Susie is the oldest sibling. For whatever reason, I had always thought that she was the second from the youngest. I should have known that since she is my friend, but I didn’t.
During the session, it was highlighted that this family’s two in-laws are truly exceptional and undeniably the most important members. (This was a joke during the session.) I have a photo of them to prove just that.
I love to capture specific photos during the session, but I also know you have particular images in mind. Therefore, I suggest writing them down so that during the session, when things are crazy, we donโt forget to capture those special moments for you.
This West Texas extended family session was a pure joy to capture. If you haven’t already, remember to book your session for next year.

Arielle and David's wedding was elegant, to say the least! I observed their private vows from a distance and witnessed tender moments shared between the couple. Although it was a joyous occasion, the wedding was marked by the tragic loss of the groom's mother just weeks before.
Arielle's planning was evident in every aspect of the wedding, and the details of the day were simple yet elegant. Arielle's dress was beautiful.

If I could photograph this West Texas wedding again, I would do so in a heartbeat. Maria and Thomas' wedding was a joy to photograph. I knew the moment I walked into the room that we were going to have a good day.
For the first look, the pecan orchard was a must regardless of the weather. Let me tell you, these images turned out beautiful. The trees were lush green, and the misty rain added to the scene.
