If I could photograph this West Texas wedding again, I would do so in a heartbeat. Maria and Thomas’ wedding was a joy to photograph. I knew the moment I walked into the room that we were going to have a good day.

As I approached the front door, I could hear the girls laughing. And it’s at those moments when you walk in that you want in on all the fun. It’s part of my job to have fun with the girls, plus I think it keeps me young.

Maria and Thomas had a certain vision they wanted for their wedding, and with the misty rain hovering over us, I knew a few of those locations wouldn’t work due to the rain. But that was okay; we had discussed a variety of locations beforehand, just in case. And Maria and Thomas were okay with changing it, except for the first-look location.

For the first look, the pecan orchard was a must regardless of the weather. Let me tell you, these images turned out beautiful. The trees were lush green, and the misty rain added to the scene.

Every wedding I photograph, I challenge myself to capture something new or different. It can be as simple as using flash for a particular photo or having fun and trying a new candid movement with the bridal party. Just something to add some fun and allow me to keep creating fun and new content.

For this particular wedding, I challenged myself to use my flash. It seemed fitting, considering the heaviness of the weather. So, I captured the ring shot that I am proud of. You will see it there if you swipe down and scroll through the pictures.
