A gorgeous senior session that was both fun and creative. We planned on using two locations, one outdoor and the other in my studio, which gave Jocelyn a lot of variety in her final gallery. We started the photo shoot at the walking park, one of my favorite locations for a senior session.
The caliche road, the pink accent chair, and the bouquet added something extra to her portraits and helped create images that felt unique to her. From the soft glow of the evening light to the elegant touches she brought to the session, everything came together beautifully. This way, she’ll have something truly special and personal for her graduation cards and memories from this season of life.

Why Outdoor Locations Make a Gorgeous Senior Session Feel Natural
Jocelyn’s dress complemented this backdrop so well. The trees surrounding her and the flowers added the perfect touch and gave her portraits a soft, natural feel that worked beautifully with the setting.
There are many different ways to use flowers in a photo shoot. You can hold them, tuck them into your pocket, lay them beside you, or even use them as a small detail that adds color and texture to your images. These little elements can make a gorgeous senior session feel even more personal and styled without feeling overdone.
And if flowers aren’t your thing, that’s completely okay too. Every senior session is designed around your personality, so we can create beautiful images that feel true to you with or without props.
Adding Variety with Outfits During Your Senior Session
Jocelyn changed into jeans for a more casual and relaxed look while still wearing a dressier top to keep a bit of elegance in her images. This combination worked perfectly and gave her gallery a completely different feel from the first outfit.
Outfit changes are one of the best ways to make a gorgeous senior session feel full and well-rounded. One look can feel classic and dressed up, while another can show a more relaxed side of your personality. It helps tell more of your story during this exciting season of life.

Studio Time for a Creative Senior Portrait Look

The next stop was my studio. We had a little extra time, so we decided to have some fun and change things up. Studio sessions are a great way to add something different to a senior gallery, especially when you want a mix of outdoor and creative portraits.
To add variety, we moved through several poses—from standing to sitting to laying down—so Jocelyn would have a wide range of images to choose from. I added some disco balls for a creative and fun look that really made the photos stand out. We also included her flowers and a few other props to keep the look cohesive with the rest of her session.
These little changes are what help turn a senior shoot into a truly gorgeous senior session that feels unique to each person.
