That’s my job.

I won’t put you in front of my camera and expect you to magically know what to do with your hands, where to stand, or how to look natural. I will give you direction when you need it, help you know where to stand and what to do, and then give you space to interact with each other so the moments in between can happen naturally.

I usually start with a little more direction so you can get comfortable in front of the camera. Once you’ve settled in, we can loosen things up and let you walk, laugh, talk, cuddle, and simply enjoy being together. Some of my favorite images are the ones that happen in between the poses.

That’s exactly what I loved about photographing Adelina and Jacob. They were so comfortable together, and their personalities came through from the very beginning. There was plenty of laughing, plenty of movement, and absolutely no pressure to “perform” for the camera.

My goal for an engagement session isn’t for you to look like professional models. I want you to look like yourselves, just really, really in love.
